Q: Is the CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller compatible with any heater?
A:

The CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller is compatible only with Dimplex CONNEX-enabled electric heaters. For a full listing of compatible products, please visit dimplex.com

Q: I have a Dimplex CONNEX Multi -zone Programmable Controller. Do I still need the CX-WIFI controller to control my heaters remotely?
A:

Yes. The CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller is required to controller the CONNEX-enabled smart heaters remotely through the free app.

 

If you have an existing CX-MPC Multi-zone Programmable controller, you can still control your heaters, just not remotely.

Q: Do I need an electrician to install the CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller?
A:

No. The controller comes with a USB cord that plugs into a standard 120V receptacle.  Hardwiring to the heater is not required, as the controller sends wireless communication to the heaters.

Q: What mobile devices are compatible?
A:

The CX-WIFI app is compatible with iPhones and iPads as well as Android Smartphones and Tablets. IOS version 8.4 or greater is required for Apple devices and 4.1 or greater for Android devices.

Q: How do I get the CX-WIFI app?
A:

Visit the App store or Google Play and search "CONNEX WIFI" to download the free Dimplex CX-WIFI app.

Q: Where can I buy a CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller?
A:

The CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller is available at most major hardware stores and at select Electrical Distributors. Dimplex CONNEX-enabled smart heaters are available in most major home improvement stores as well as online.

Q: What is the return policy on the CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller?
A:

The controller is covered by a 3 year limited warranty.  Please visit our dimplex.com for detailed coverage of warranty. 

Q: It says "offline" on the app
A:

Ensure the controller is plugged in. Check your home network connection.

Q: I don’t see "CONNEX" listed in my home’s available Wi-Fi networks
A:

Ensure the controller is plugged in and that your mobile device has Wi-Fi enabled.  If it is still not appearing, reboot your mobile device and conduct a factory reset of the controller. Press down on the 'PROG' button and hold for approximately 10 seconds until the screen goes blank and all the icons re-appear.

Q: I downloaded the app but it says the device is not registered. How do I register?
A:

A controller needs to be registered before you can use the app. Follow the instructions from the app on how to register your device.

Q: Can I have multiple controllers?
A:

Yes. You will need to create a different account for each controller, using a different email address for each. There is no limit to the number of controllers that can be controlled by the app.

Q: How many heaters can I control with the CX-WIFI Multi-zone Programmable CONNEX controller?
A:

There is no limit to how many heaters you can control, just the number of zones (4).

Q: What happens if the power goes out?
A:

The device will power down.  When power is restored the device will reconnect to the network and your settings will be retained.  The clock will adjust to the correct time automatically.

Q: What happens if I lose my Wi-Fi signal?
A:

The heaters will remain on and you can still make adjustments through the controller, but you will not be able to control the heaters from the app until the Wi-Fi signal is restored.

Q: Can I run the controller off the battery?
A:

No.  The controller comes with a small cell battery that will last 2-3 hours. The controller is not capable of connecting to the home network off the battery. This is meant to be used only for the synchronization.  Afterwards, the controller needs to be plugged in.

Q: How do I know my information is secure/ private?
A:

Please read the CONNEX WIFI App Security document for a detailed explanation.

Q: If the zones are showing the temperature in those zones, what is the inside temperature reading?
A:

There is a temperature sensor on the controller which provides the inside temperature displayed on the app.  This is the ambient temperature based on the location of the controller.  

Q: I cannot find the app in the App Store
A:

If using an iPad, when in the App Store filter your search to “iPhone only” as the app is optimized for iPhones but is compatible with iPads

Q: The link in the account activation email doesn’t work when I click on it
A:

Ensure that you are opening the email from a mobile device (smartphone or tablet) and not a PC or laptop.
