Built-in

Dentil molding
A small tooth shape block used as a repeating ornament along the edges of a piece of furniture.
Double Wall Heat Exchanger
A heat exchanger that has two distinct walls between the heat transfer fluid and the domestic water to ensure that there is no mixing of the two. Many plumbing codes require a double wall heat exchanger for a solar system. Please contact your local city building code administrator.
Dry Contact
A "dry" contact is a contact that is not initially connected to a voltage source. The meter opens and closes the contact to initiate the Peak or Off-Peak periods.
Fan-forced
Dimplex offers a line of fan-forced heaters for different applications in your home. Typically, this type of heater is used for quick, powerful bursts of heat in areas that normally become cool or that you want to heat temporarily.
Flat-wall

Fluted
A decoration consisting of parallel, normally vertical, flutes (grooves) incised into the surface.
Heat Loss
The heat that flows from your home’s interior on the coldest day of the year for your location, through the building envelope to the outside environment and takes into account all the things that allow heat to escape from your house, such as windows, doors, insulation R-values, walls, ceilings, floors, construction quality, number of fireplaces vented externally.
Insert

Mid-Peak Period
Some utilities offer an additional two to six hour mid-peak period during the day that is priced between the Peak & Off-Peak pricing.
Off-Peak Electricity
Lowest-cost electricity based on the Electric Utility’s least-expensive generation option available to meet the lowest demand periods that typically includes the night hours of 11pm to 7am.
On-Peak Electricity
Higher-priced electricity that better reflects the Electric Utility’s additional costs to supply power to meet the highest system demand (GW) created by the residential, business, industrial and institutional users.
Ornate
Classic, elegant, and formal in appearance, includes curves, carvings, and deep rich color.
Peak Electricity
Higher-priced electricity that better reflects the Electric Utility’s additional costs to supply power to meet the highest system demand (GW) created by the residential, business, industrial and institutional users.
Radiant
Dimplex radiant heaters are an ideal outdoor heater choice. Dimplex’s quartz and ceramic radiant heaters provide long wave infrared radiation, which imitates the heating effect of the sun, making them ideal “people heaters”.
Renewable Energy
Is energy which comes from natural sources and regenerates naturally without negatively impacting the environment. The most common sources are sunlight, wind, ambient heat in the air, rain, tides, low-impact river/hydro and geothermal heat.
Single Wall Heat Exchanger
A heat exchanger that has a single wall between the heat transfer fluid and the domestic water to transfer heat. Many plumbing codes require a double wall heat exchanger for a solar system. Please contact your local city building code administrator.
Solar Photovoltaic
Is the technical term for using solar energy in the form of electricity.
Solar Thermal
Is the technical term for using solar energy in the form of heat.
