New media console’s smart corner configuration conserves floor space while delivering style, big- screen capacity and useful storage.

Cambridge, Ontario --- Many consumers, urban dwellers especially, need a stylish home for their flat panel TV and yearn for the warmth and atmosphere that only a fireplace can provide, but just don’t have the space to accommodate both. Dimplex has taken a hip, modern approach, and added an intriguing twist to solving that dilemma with the introduction of its new Cloverdale fireplace media console. The Cloverdale uses a clever corner configuration that takes up very little floor space while providing plenty of functionality and making a dramatic style statement. Purchasers will be able to customize the style of ambiance they would like to add to their room, by selecting from two available fireboxes for their Cloverdale: one with traditional logs, the other with a modern crushed glass flame bed.
“The Cloverdale presented us with a very interesting design challenge,” says Colin Stewart, Design Director at Dimplex. “Within a small footprint, we needed to accommodate large flat panel TVs, provide space for electronics and media storage, and incorporate a fireplace. And, of course, we wanted to provide a visual presence that would make a captivating focal point in any room. We think the Cloverdale meets our design goals.” The Cloverdale, with its rich Espresso finish and brushed stainless steel highlights, confidently sets the style tone for a room with its clean lines and crisp, architectural detailing. The effect is both warm and contemporary. Capable of holding a flat panel TV up to 42”, the unit features a wide upper shelf for electronics and media,
while four additional storage compartments provide a perfect display environment for additional media, books, or favorite decorative items.
The Cloverdale presents prospective purchasers with a delightful choice: which of the two available 25” widescreen fireboxes to choose? The classic firebox, with its traditional logs, kindles thoughts of relaxation with its fascinating flames and soothing ambiance. The alternate firebox delivers a modern, but no less charming interpretation of the time- honored hearth; the soft pulsating glow from its crushed glass bed with dancing flames create an atmosphere of well being that is both contemporary and ageless. Remote control operation is standard equipment on both fireboxes, and both have been designed for use with LCD and Plasma flat panel TVs.
Both Cloverdale models can take the chill off a room with their fan-forced electric heaters and built-in automatic thermostats. And because the units can be used with or without heat, owners can enjoy the serenity of a fire even in warm temperatures. The Cloverdale can be enjoyed with a clear conscience because its safe, clean electric operation means that it operates with a small carbon footprint. Both available fireboxes simply plug in to a standard 120V household outlet; no complicated installation or venting is needed. The Cloverdale is very easy on the budget as well, costing approximately three cents per hour to run with the flame only, and up to eight cents per hour with both flame and heat operating.
The Cloverdale media console is being introduced in the Dimplex showroom, Showplace #2308, at the High Point Market in North Carolina, from April 2nd - 7th, 2011.
