Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible heating functionality I’ve had this product and have tried to use for over a year now. I have a approx. 260 sq. ft. room and the heater provides no additional warmth at all. I’ve run for hours and have even called customer support to try some testing but have come to the conclusion this was just a poorly made product. i have a $60 heater that heats up my room with no problem in about 30 mins. Don’t waste your money on this $1000 plus heater as you can certainly get better for much, much cheaper. Very disappointed in this Dimplex product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Looks Great, No Heat Very easy to install. Looks very nice. Only problem is it puts out very little heat. According to the manual there are three heat settings (off, low, high). I notice no difference between low and high (either fan speed or temperature). Good customer service, as they sent me out two parts hoping to fix the problem. Just got them installed today. No change. Dang.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poor Design Features Although I own two other excellent Dimplex linear fireplaces, The Model BLF5051 has several design deficiencies. 1. The LED lighting is far too bright for a darkened room. 2. The heater is mostly ineffective even for a small room. 3. The flame will not cycle off with the heat but must be turned off manually. 4. And most importantly, the thermostat control does not function as it should. The heat will not turn on unless the heat is set to 4 degrees above the room or air intake temperature. Similarly the heat will not turn off until the room temperature reaches 2 degrees above the set temperature. For example if the room is at 66 degrees and I want it to be at 68 degrees, the heat will not turn on unless it is set to 70 degrees. And then the heat will not turn off until the room reaches 72 degrees, which is 4 degrees higher than my desired temperature of 68 degrees. Dimplex has acknowledged that the thermostat was poorly designed but they can do nothing about it, which is inexcusable for an expensive product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful but heating isn't that great .this is absolutely beautiful. The flame looks gorgeous. Very realistic. The lights have different color options. I get compliments from all who enter my home. But....the heat isn't so great. It takes a while to heat up and never really gets hot. I think dimplex should look Into this and work something out with customers who own the prism series. Its expensive. For the price we would expect great supplemental heat. Otherwise beautiful looking fireplace.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Unit we have sold & installed thousands of these models and other Dimplex models as well into single family and multi family projects here in the Great White North with great success and positive feed back. it's a 1500 watt heater which is equal to approx. 4500 - 5000 Btu's , it's enough to take the chill off the room as to trying to heat the area
